Join us for our June get together as we celebrate World Giraffe Week with a special guest that works closely with giraffe!

CAROLINE WRIGHT is an assistant team manager on the giraffe section at Chester Zoo. She has been on the team for nine years, working with a variety of species including Nubian giraffe, Okapi, Babirusa, and Bactrian camels.

Chester Zoo recently moved their entire giraffe herd into a brand new habitat called Heart of Africa, and for the first time ever, the giraffes are now living alongside other species! Caroline will tell us how the team prepared the new space, carefully considered each giraffe's personality to decide the best order to move them, and kept a close eye on the giraffes' behaviour, sleep, and hormones afterward to make sure everyone was happy and settled.

World Giraffe Week

World Giraffe Week is a global celebration that brings together organizations, educators, conservationists, and giraffe lovers from around the world. MARY DAGG, CEO of the Anne Innis Dagg Foundation will share how the Junior Giraffe Club and the foundation work together with their World Giraffe Week partners to inspire young people to learn about giraffes, take action for conservation, and connect with a worldwide community of giraffe enthusiasts.
